A Sales Tip To Make Every Call Sound Great

A cold calling sales tip that my teams use to make every call sound as good and fresh as the first of the day.

Cold calls can drain your energy, grind down your motivation, and is something many sales people dread.

But this sales tip will keep all your calls buzzing with energy.

Your motivation will be sky high and you’ll learn to enjoy making telesales and appointment setting calls.

I’ve used this technique with my sales teams and the results have been brilliant.

Try it out for yourself and see what a difference it makes.

The best benefit we gain is that the prospects we phone feel the difference and respond positively to how we sound.

That means you, like us, will get better results, earn more commission, or grow your business.

10 Calls at a Time - Stop - Repeat
Sound Great

Make ten telesales or appointment setting calls then stop, it’s that simple.

When you've made 10 calls have a two minute break.
And only two minutes. No going to the coffee machine or chatting to colleagues.

In your 2 minute break, walk about, get some fresh air, take deep breaths, and then start again. Make another ten calls and take another quick break.

You’ll sound great on every conversation. Your motivation stays high, and you might even get to a point where you want to make more than 10 calls, but don’t.


A call is when you get through to a decision maker or influencer and complete at least part of your telesales or appointment pitch.


Why this sales tip works so well

There are many reasons why this sales tip works so well, some of them are quite deep:

Having a set limit of 10 calls gives you a goal to try and achieve more appointments or sales on each set of ten. You can aim to beat the results of the previous set of calls.

Many good and motivated sales people start to want to make the calls rather than finding reasons to avoid dialling that next prospect.

You know how many cold calls you are going to make before you have a break.

Compare this to just sitting down with a never ending list of prospects and not knowing when you will finish calling.

The breaks give you time to reflect on what you are saying on your calls.


After just a two minute break you come back fresh and that can be heard in your voice. Prospects respond even to cold calls because a fresh voice makes them think you have only phoned them.

Compare this to the monotonous tone of some call center telesales people that repeat the same sales pitch hour after hour without having to think.

When my sales teams combined this sales tip with an effective script for making appointments, that they each created themselves, the results were incredible. We surpassed all sales appointments targets that had previously been achieved.
